Tower Repairs

Work to repair the tower of All Saints Church, which commenced in June 2009 has now been completed. Funding was received from WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) £20,000; CADW £30,000; and Heritage Lottery Fund £84,900 with the remaining £10,000 from restricted church funds. Contractors for the work were Mather and Ellis, under the supervision of architect Robin Wolley. The work involved repairs to the pinnacles, replacement of rusted cramps with stainless steel fittings, work to conserve the hood mouldings and string courses, and repointing the tower. The clock face was repainted whilst the scaffolding was in place.
